I thought I could take a shirt, rip it strategically so it showed my VNS scars, and I could be “guy attacked by werewolf” or something. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’ll be ugly enough when Halloween rolls around! So I’ll just stay home.
They are pretty raunchy, but half as much as the day after surgery. My chest scar is gross in a “three showers will put that right” sort of way, and the next scar is a bit more “dude, why does it look like THAT?” I have the two week follow up this week, and I’m sure they’ll say I’m on the right path.
The internal neck pain is much better, as my neurosurgeon with tons of experience predicted. It’s still like there’s something in there but it’s not painful, just odd and slightly uncomfortable. No other physical issues, and we’ve frozen the meds for the surgery so nothing new there. I did get some cool new drugs for the pain, but used three of them. So that’s handy.
I was talking to a ketamine nurse on Monday and she’s a little new so she was asking questions about my deal but with all the “if you don’t mind sharing” disclaimers, and I told her I was wide open about my mental health. She asked some good questions after that. But it’s a reminder that I often drop my filters and just say what comes into my head. I’m not apologizing, i’m just explaining.
Also, congratulate me for finally beating the Legendary Grizzly Bear in Red Dead Redemption 2.
